India won the toss and opted to bat. Indian team scored 158 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. India set a target of 159 runs to win against England.

The first match of the T20I series between India and England was abandoned due to rain. After this, in the second T20I match played in Manchester, England won by defeating India by 4 wickets. The third T20I match played in Nottingham was won by the host team by 125 runs. In the fourth T20I match, England beat Team India by 9 wickets with 37 balls to spare. India is now trailing 3-0 in the five-match T20I series. Now the fifth and final T20I match of the series is to be played in Southampton on July 11.
