Rajnath Singh Felicitates Women Crew Of IASV Triveni, Salutes ‘Nari Shakti’: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday felicitated the all-women crew of the Indian Autonomous Surface Vessel (IASV) Triveni for successfully completing the ‘Samudra Pradakshina Abhiyan’. Rajnath Singh described this campaign as proof of ‘women power’ and a great example of mutual cooperation and synergy between the tri-services.
Interacting with women officers in New Delhi, the Defense Minister lauded the courage and determination of the team in successfully completing the 314-day journey of nearly 25,500 nautical miles across four oceans. Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh lauded the achievements of the women officers and said that they not only won the sea but also proved wrong all the notions which believed that daughters cannot be a part of such tough operations.
The Defense Minister said, ‘You have proved that physical ability, mental toughness and leadership skills have nothing to do with gender. Today every daughter of India is believing that she can not only cross the sea but also face every challenge in the world after seeing this achievement.’ He also added that this operation is a symbol of ‘Nari Shakti’.
Rajnath Singh said that the all-women crew of IASV Triveni has made the country proud by displaying courage, discipline and excellent leadership. Her success also symbolizes the growing participation and leadership potential of women in the Indian Armed Forces. According to defense experts, this achievement will be an inspiration for the next generation of women military officers.
The all-women crew of IASV Triveni crossed four oceans and successfully navigated around three of the world’s most challenging capes—Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin and Cape Horn. During this mission, the crew faced tough challenges such as strong winds of up to 60 knots, waves up to five meters high, bad weather and long periods at sea. Despite technical problems and limited resources during the campaign, the team displayed courage, discipline and excellent coordination.
