Renowned Odia Vocalist Abhijit Majumdar Passes Away While Undergoing Treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar: Renowned Odia vocalist and music composer Abhijit Majumdar passed away while undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, leaving the music and film fraternity in deep mourning. He was suffering from a serious liver-related illness and multiple health complications. His condition worsened on Sunday, following which he was rushed to the hospital. Despite continuous medical care, he could not be saved.
Abhijit Majumdar was first admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack after his health deteriorated. Later, he was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment. On September 4 last year, his condition turned critical and he was admitted to the ICU, where he remained for several weeks. After gradual improvement, he was shifted to the General Medicine ward on October 23.
Doctors had earlier stated that he was battling a severe lung infection and had been affected by multiple diseases. During his prolonged treatment, he had slipped into a coma but later showed signs of slow recovery. After being discharged, he returned home, raising hopes among fans and well-wishers across Odisha that he would recover fully.
Odia Film Industry in Mourning After Abhijit Majumdar’s Death
However, fate had other plans. On Sunday, his health deteriorated again at his residence in Cuttack, and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Despite efforts by the medical team, Abhijit Majumdar passed away, leaving his family, fans, and the entire Odia music industry heartbroken.
Abhijit Majumdar was one of the most respected and versatile artists in the Odia music industry. He had composed music for more than 50 films and lent his voice to numerous memorable songs. His unique musical style enriched Odia cinema and albums, earning him immense love and admiration.
His demise marks an irreparable loss to the Odia film and music world. As news of his passing spread, tributes poured in from fellow artists, fans, and cultural figures. The people of Odisha mourn the loss of a musical legend whose melodies will continue to live on.
