Shubman Gill Stars in India’s ODI Victory
Shubman Gill Creates Big Record in England: India started the three-match ODI series against England with a six-wicket win at Edgbaston. Chasing 259, India lost Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli early. Captain Shubman Gill held the innings together with a brilliant 80 before retiring hurt, guiding India to victory.
With this knock, Gill reached 510 runs at Edgbaston in just three innings. He became the first Indian captain to score 500 runs at a single venue in England and only the second Indian captain, after Virat Kohli, to score 500 or more runs at one overseas venue.
Gill has been in excellent ODI form in 2026. In seven matches, he has scored 453 runs in six innings at an average of 113.25, including one century and four fifties. His overall ODI batting average has now crossed 60.
