SIR notices to Sandhu, Jaishankar, Advani over electoral roll discrepancies: Amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision(SIR) process in Delhi, notices have been issued to several prominent individuals citing different reasons. Chief Election Commissioner S. S Sandhu, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, former deputy PM LK Advani, congress leader and senior parliamentarian Kapil Sibal, senior congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri have been issued notices.
As per the notice list, SS Sandhu has been issued a notice over a mismatch in the spelling of his name in the electoral records. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his wife, KS Jaishankar, also figure on the list of notices issued during the electoral roll verification exercise. Kapil Sibal and Vikram Misri have been issued notices as their names could not be mapped to the records of the previous SIR. The notice list also includes former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and members of his family. LK Advani’s daughter Pratibha Advani also figures on the list.
Several prominent figures from the public and political circles are on the list. The notices are part of the ongoing electoral roll verification process, with discrepancies, spelling mismatches, or non-mapping with records of the previous SIR cited in individual cases.
