Stock Market Today: Sensex opens 400 points higher, Nifty crosses 24,300 mark: The domestic stock market kicked off Friday on the last trading day of the week, i.e., July 3. The Sensex climbed nearly 480 points, while the Nifty was seen trading above 24,300. The biggest gainers were in the IT sector, where giants like HCLTech, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Infosys saw strong gains.

The Sensex rose 450.78 points at the opening session and was trading at 77,952.90. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also seen trading at the level of 24,314.45, registering an increase of 138.75 points. There was an all-round buying trend in the opening session, where around 123 stocks saw gains while 44 stocks opened in the red. Five stocks remained unchanged.

Indian equity markets began Friday’s trading session with a sharp recovery, as both the Sensex and the Nifty 50 recorded significant gains. This positive movement was supported by a stronger Indian rupee, which appreciated by 18 paise against the US dollar, opening at 95.21. The rally follows a period of volatility and reflects a change in global market sentiment regarding US economic policy. All this has lifted investor mood and pushed domestic stocks upward.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 311.82 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data. On Wednesday, the Sensex jumped 579.48 points, or 0.75 per cent, to end at 77,502.12. The Nifty rallied 169.85 points, or 0.71 per cent, to settle at 24,175.70.
