Trump rejects Iran’s 7-day ceasefire offer: President Donald Trump has reportedly rejected Iran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire. Trump is likely to resume bombing Tehran after the November mid-term elections in the US.
Tehran on Friday had proposed to reopen the strategic waterway Strait of Hormuz and end fighting. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran has conveyed to the United States, through Qatar, a concrete seven-day plan. If the necessary conditions are met, the strait can be reopened and normal maritime passage restored within seven days. Initial measures would take four to five days, with the strait of Hormuz reopening on 6th day. On day seven, the talks with the US will be started for the final deal on mutually agreed subjects, Araghchi added.

‘The decision now lies with the United States. Iran will not accept coercion or intimidation, nor will it compromise its sovereign rights under pressure,’ he said.
Hours later, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had rejected the proposal. Trump told aides that he expects to resume bombing Iran after the November midterm elections.
