Two sisters allegedly gang raped; FIR against 13, 1 held: In a shocking incident, two sisters have been allegedly gang raped by 13 people in Naubatpur district of Patna. The police have arrested one accused, Munna Kumar, based on the evidence found on the spot and the statements of the victims. Raids are being conducted at possible locations for the arrest of other accused.
According to the FIR, Munna Kumar, a resident of Belura Rampur, invited the two sisters from Jharkhand to dance at the tilak ceremony held on June 18. It is alleged that after reaching the venue, a total of 13 people including Munna Kumar, his cousin Suraj Kumar and their accomplices took the two sisters hostage and raped them alternately. The victim sisters have filed an FIR against 10 named and 3 unknown accused.
According to Phulwari Sharif DSP 2 Deepak Kumar, an incident of gang rape involving two women was reported in Naubatpur police station on 19 June. The DSP said, ‘The police team is recording victims statements and they are being provided necessary medical examination.’ Considering the seriousness of the case, a special team has been formed under the direction of a senior officer to lead the enquiry officer said.
