An old woman beaten to death by daughter and grandson: A 75-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her daughter and grandson in Bengaluru. The accused tried to conceal the crime, but the police arrested them in connection with the murder.
According to police, the crime occurred in the Subhas Nagar area under Kengeri police station limits on June 21. An argument broke out between Jayamma(the victim) and her daughter Bhagyalakshmi over the sale of family property. The quarrel escalated, following which Vikas also joined the confrontation. During the argument, the duo allegedly beat Jayamma with a cricket bat and sticks, leading to her death.
Initial investigations also revealed that Bhagyalakshmi and her son were addicted to alcohol. For the past three to four months, both of them have been drinking alcohol and creating a ruckus in the apartment where they were living. Later, when Jayamma tried to stop them, she was beaten to death.
Police has registered a case against duo under various sections of Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.
