Odisha Govt dismisses OT&AS officer Bhimsen Tudu: The Odisha government on Saturday has dismissed newly recruited Odisha Taxation and Accounts Service (OT&AS) officer Bhimsen Tudu from service following his arrest in connection with a criminal case. He has been permanently disqualified from holding any government position by order of the state.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the state government terminated Tudu’s services with immediate effect. According to the CMO, Tudu had recently been selected for the OT&AS and was undergoing induction training at the Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management (MDRAFM) in Bhubaneswar. He has been absent from the training programme since June 4, 2026. Apart from this he also failed to appear for the academy’s final examination Officials said. During this period, Tudu was arrested by Barang Police in connection with a death case and was subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The case in which Tudu was arrested is currently undergoing investigation.
The CMO stated that as Tudu remained in police custody for more than 48 hours in a criminal case, disciplinary action was initiated in accordance with the applicable service rules, leading to his dismissal from government service. The state government said the action reflects its commitment to maintaining integrity and accountability in public service, particularly among newly appointed government officials.
