A speeding train claims lives of 6 deer: At least six deer died after being hit by a train in Nagpur. The accident took place on the Mumbai- Howrah railway track on Saturday. The forest officials have sent the dead bodies for post-mortem, and further investigations are underway.
According to sources, early Saturday, a herd of deer were crossing the railway track from the forest side. Meanwhile, 6 deer died on the spot after being hit by a high-speed train passing through the Mumbai-Howrah railway track. Among the dead deer the bodies of 5 female and 1 male deer have been recovered. The incident took place in Tukaramnagar area of Kanhan railway station. The police and forest department officials reached the spot after being informed by the locals. The officials conducted a ‘panchnama’ (site inspection) and took the dead bodies into their possession. The locals are demanding necessary action regarding this incident.
