Congress Leader DK Shivakumar to Be Sworn In as Karnataka CM on This Day
Ahead of the CLP Meeting, DK Shivakumar Confirms Oath-Taking Date: Senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar is set to take oath as Karnataka’s 25th Chief Minister on June 3, marking a significant leadership transition in the state. The change comes after Siddaramaiah stepped down from the post following directions from the Congress high command.
Speaking to ANI, Shivakumar confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony will be held on June 3. Before assuming office, he will be formally elected as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) during a meeting scheduled for Saturday evening.
Senior Congress leaders K.C. Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is the party’s Karnataka in-charge, are expected to attend the CLP meeting. During the session, party legislators will first acknowledge and appreciate the contributions and leadership of Siddaramaiah before electing Shivakumar as their new leader.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place at the Glass House in the Lok Bhavan complex. A large gathering of senior Congress leaders, cabinet ministers, party workers, and supporters from across Karnataka is likely to attend the event. Shivakumar’s elevation to the top post comes after years of political developments and power-sharing discussions within the Karnataka Congress, making this a major moment for the party in the state.
