‘E-Hundi’ service soon to launch in Puri temple: ‘E-Hundi’ facility for the  Jagannath temple in Puri will be launched soon. Marking a significant leap for the convenience of devotees, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced the launch of the digital E-Hundi platform.

After this digital initiative, crores of devotees living in the country and abroad easily send online donations to the puri temple remotely. The main objective of this government scheme is to make the donation process more accessible, transparent and secure.

State Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said that the entire online donation process will be conducted through the ‘Samarpan App’. The entire amount received digitally through E-Hundi will go directly to the official account of Sri Jagannath Temple. This amount will be used only for the development, maintenance, and welfare of the temple’s devotees.

The Law Minister also clarified that donations made through this E-Hundi service will also provide tax benefits to the donors as per the Income Tax Law. Strict cyber security measures are being implemented to make the online donation system completely safe and foolproof.

The entire amount received digitally through e-hundi will go directly to the official account of Sri Jagannath Temple and will be used only for the development, maintenance and welfare of the devotees of the temple.
