IndiGo increased charges for child ticket and extra baggage

IndiGo has increased the excess baggage charge from Rs 700 per kg to Rs 800 per kg. The service charge for international flights for unaccompanied minors will be Rs 12,999

IndiGo increased charges for child ticket and extra baggage: One of the leading airlines IndiGo has revised its service charges. Now passengers have to pay extra amount for child tickets as well as extra baggage.   

IndiGo, the leading airline operating domestic flights, has given a big shock to passengers with the start of the festive season. The company has revised the charges for many additional and optional passenger services. The airline on Thursday announced increased charges for excess baggage, travel with infants, unaccompanied minors and priority check-in and boarding.

According to information, this change is part of Indigo’s regular process of reviewing and updating the charges of additional services. Under the revised tariff structure, IndiGo has increased the excess baggage charge from Rs 700 per kg to Rs 800 per kg, i.e. an increase of Rs 100 for every additional kg. This increased fee will be applicable to passengers who are carrying more than their baggage allowance.

The airline has also increased fees from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 for infants aged three days to two years. It is mandatory to book tickets for infants. For domestic flights, the fare for children aged 5 to 12 years traveling unaccompanied has increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 5,999. The service charge for international flights for unaccompanied minors will be Rs 12,999.

Additionally, passengers priority check-in and boarding charge has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 650. While the charge for international flights is Rs 850 per sector. Travelers are advised to plan their journey keeping in mind the new charges of additional services.
