Minor girl allegedly raped and murdered, accused arrested: In a shocking incident an 11-year-old girl was abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered by a cab driver. Delhi Police has arrested an accused in the case.
The incident took place in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Monday. According to the police, the 11 year old girl was sleeping with her family on the pavement was abducted and allegedly raped and later murdered. In the morning, when the girl was found missing, the family informed the police.
After receiving the PCR call, the police team reached the spot and started immediate investigation. In the initial report, a cab driver was suspected of taking the girl. During the investigation, the police scrutinized the footage of dozens of CCTV cameras on the roads leading to Mehrauli and Haryana. On the basis of technical evidence and information gathered at the local level, the police were able to identify the accused.
During interrogation, police said the cab driver kidnapped the girl and murdered her. Her body was found at Faridabad- Gurugram road, said the police. The minor’s body has been sent for a post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. It has been confirmed that the minor was allegedly sexually assaulted before the murder, police said.
