Model arrested in drug smuggling case from Mumbai airport: A 28 year model was arrested in drug smuggling case from Mumbai airport. Custom officials have seized hydroponic cannabis worth more than Rs 11.82 crore. The model was allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs into India from Bangkok.

The accused has been identified as Harsha Sunny. She was a contestant in the Mrs Kerala Beauty Pageant 2025. She was intercepted by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai Customs after arriving from Bangkok on Thai Airways flight TG-351 during the night of June 10-11.

According to customs officials, Harsha came under suspicion during routine surveillance, prompting officers to conduct a detailed examination of her baggage. During the search, authorities allegedly recovered 12 vacuum-sealed packets concealed inside her trolley bag. Officers opened the packets and found a green-coloured substance suspected to be a narcotic drug. Officials said the seized contraband has an estimated value of over Rs 11.82 crore in the illegal drug market.

During interrogation, Harsha allegedly denied that the bag belonged to her. Her explanations failed to satisfy the customs officials. Following the seizure, Harsha was arrested under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. She was produced before a court on June 11. According to officials, the court remanded her to police custody for further interrogation. Investigators are now examining her travel history, communication records and possible links to international drug trafficking networks.
