Aparajita expresses concern over the closure of the metro rail project, writes a letter to the Chief Minister
Odisha Metro Rail Project : Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has written a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi requesting him to reconsider the decision taken in the state cabinet meeting on April 4 regarding the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project. She mentioned that the decision taken in this cabinet meeting should be reconsidered keeping in mind the aspirations of the people and the interests of the bigwigs. As a Bhubaneswar MP, Smt. Sarangi in her letter said that this project will not only serve the interests of the people but will also fulfill the goal of a developed Odisha .
The decision to stop the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project will hurt the sentiments of the people. While the state capital Bhubaneswar is a large city, its population is also increasing at an unprecedented rate. Bhubaneswar city always faces traffic problems, which is putting a lot of pressure on the existing transport system. In such a situation, there is a need for a modern transport system that is highly efficient and affordable.
Starting from senior citizens, women, students, and businessmen can benefit from the metro. In 2022, MP Smt. Sarangi wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik requesting for the construction of the Bhubaneswar- Cuttack Metro Rail Project. She herself reviewed it on November 30, 2024. In such a situation, it would not be right to stop the metro project, MP Smt. Sarangi mentioned in the letter.
