Suicide bombing in Pakistan, 13 killed, several injured: At least 13 people were killed and over 30 injured after a blast in Dera Ismail Khan in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday. Following the incident rescue 1122 said the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The attack took place in Dera Ismail Khan, a district in Khyber Pakhtukhwa province. A suicide bomber rammed an explosives laden vehicle into the police checkpoint killing 13 people. The deceased and those who sustained injuries were being taken to a nearby hospital following the blast, with some of the injured in critical condition, a spokesman for the provincial emergency service said.

The Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement. The group is separate from, but allied with, the Afghan Taliban, which returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
