Sunetra Pawar To Take Oath As Deputy Chief Minister Today : Sunetra Pawar, wife of deceased NCP (Ajit) leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday. Sunetra will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday. After Ajit’s death in a plane crash, there was a strong demand from the NCP (Ajit) faction to make Sunetra the Deputy Chief Minister. On Friday, three senior leaders of the party, Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatka, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his residence and made a demand in this regard. They also demanded that Sunetra be made the Deputy Chief Minister and given the charge of important departments. Apart from being the Deputy Chief Minister in Ajit Pawar’s grand alliance government, she was also in charge of important departments like Finance, Excise and Sports. Accordingly, these leaders demanded that Sunetra be given the charge from Fadnavis. After Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the media that the decision his party takes regarding Sunetra will be accepted with respect, it has been confirmed that Sunetra will be the Deputy Chief Minister.
On the other hand, discussions are also increasing about the merger of the NCP. Earlier, Ajit had tried to merge the two factions of the NCP. In this regard, he discussed with his grandfather Sharad Pawar and held two meetings last December and early this month. However, in the current context, the leaders of both the factions are giving importance to the merger of the party. The party has said that an announcement in this regard will be made by mid-February.
Especially, the party leaders have started brainstorming about who will be in the hands of the party. In this regard, the names of Praful Patel, Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar are being discussed, but in the current situation, it is said that many party leaders are in favor of Sunetra.
