According to the advisory, temporary traffic restrictions will be imposed on major roads across the the twin cities to ensure the the President’s security and the smooth movement of the official convoy.
Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead Of President Murmu’s Visit: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on Thursday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day visit to Odisha. According to the advisory, temporary traffic restrictions will be imposed on major roads across the the twin cities to ensure the the President’s security and the smooth movement of thethe official convoy.
On August 3, restrictions will be in force from 3:50 pm to 4:50 pm and again from 5:50 pm to 6:50 pm along key routes passing through Lok Bhavan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Sastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, NALCO Square, Damana Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, Baranga Golei, Block Chhak, Godi Sahi Chhak, Canal Road and Banara Chhak.
The advisory further stated that on August 3, heavy vehicles, including six-wheelers and above, buses, trucks and trailers, travelling between Bhubaneswar, Khordha and Cuttack will not be permitted to operate on the affected routes during the restriction periods.
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha’s Ganjam district on August 4, 2026, where she will offer prayers at the revered Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple near Taptapani in T. Gobindapur panchayat of Sanakhemundi block. On August 4, traffic movement will remain restricted between 8:30 am and 8:50 am on the route from Lok Bhavan Square via AG Square, Raj Mahal Square, Master Canteen Golei, U-turn, UCO Bank Lane and the designated venue. Similarly, on August 5, restrictions will be imposed from 12:30 pm to 12:50 pm on the route connecting Bhubaneswar Railway Station, UCO Bank Lane, Raj Mahal Square, AG Square, Hospital Square and Airport Square.
However, the restrictions will not apply to emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, fire tenders and police vehicles. The Commissionerate Police has appealed to commuters to plan their travel in advance, use alternative routes wherever possible and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth traffic management during the President’s visit.
