Election Commission Releases 2026 Poll Schedule: 824 Seats in Five States: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the 2026 assembly elections in five states – West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced the dates at a press conference in Vigyan Bhawan on March 15.

Big Election Battle Begins in 5 Indian States

A total of 824 assembly seats will go to polls in these five states. The results of all elections will be declared on May 4.

• West Bengal: Voting in two phases – April 23 and April 29 for 294 seats.
• Tamil Nadu: Elections for 234 seats.
• Assam: Voting for 126 seats.
• Kerala: Elections for 140 seats.
• Puducherry: Single-phase voting on April 9 for 30 seats.
