Reservation System To Be Implemented In Higher Education From This Academic Year: Scheduled Caste and Tribe Development Minister Nityanand Gond has reacted to the reservation proposal in the cabinet meeting. He said that the reservation system will be implemented in higher education from the current academic year. Although the academic year has already begun. The government will take steps to implement reservation as per the cabinet decision. The state cabinet has taken a big decision on the reservation policy for enrollment in medical, engineering, other higher education and technological education courses in Odisha.
The state’s Scheduled Tribes will get 22.50% reservation, Scheduled Castes 16.25% and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes students will get 11.25%. After our government came to power, there has been a reservation for SC, ST and OBC students to enroll in medical and other technological courses. There is also a reservation in jobs and education. The number of seats will also be increased. The previous government had violated the rights of ST, SC and OBC. It failed to implement it.
