Omfed Hike Milk Price : Increased By 4 Rupees Per Liter , Omfed milk prices increased. Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation has increased the price of milk by Rs 4 per liter across Odisha. The price has increased by about Rs 4 per liter in different categories. From today, the new Omfed prices have been implemented in the state.
As per the new price structure, tond milk will now be sold at Rs 54 per litre, up from Rs 50. Premium milk has been increased from Rs 54 to Rs 58 per litre, while Gold Premium milk will be priced at Rs 60, up from Rs 56 earlier. In addition, the price of Gold Premium Plus milk has been increased from Rs 60 to Rs 64 per litre.
The number of consumers buying small packs will also increase, with the price of a half-liter milk packet now being priced at Rs 29 compared to the previous Rs 27.
The price revision has come after Omfed increased the procurement rate for dairy farmers. Effective from May 1, 2026, milk producers are now being paid Rs 39.05 per litre, up from Rs 38.05. The move is expected to benefit around three lakh dairy farmers associated with the cooperative.
Omfed officials said the two-fold increase in purchase and retail prices was due to rising input costs including animal feed, fodder, veterinary medicines and overall maintenance costs. These factors have also affected the level of milk production across the state. This amendment aims to strike a balance between supporting farmers and managing supply challenges, although it may increase the financial burden on consumers.
