DCGI approves India’s first dengue vaccine ‘QDENGA’: The dengue vaccine has been approved for the first time in India. The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved Takeda Biopharmaceuticals India’s vaccine QDENGA for marketing.
According to the company, this vaccine can be applied to people from 4 to 60 years. There will be no need to check whether the person has been infected with dengue before or not. The approval in India is based on Takeda’s global clinical development program. Under this, a total of 19 clinical trials of Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III were conducted, in which more than 28 thousand people participated.
QDENGA is given in two doses. Each dose is 0.5 ml and is given by injection under the skin. A gap of three months is kept between the two doses. QDENGA (TAK-003) is actually an invention of Japanese company ‘Takeda’. For this, Takeda has entered into an agreement with the well-known pharmaceutical company ‘Biological E’ of Hyderabad.
