President Murmu, PM Modi and other leaders paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee: President Droupadi Murmu, PM Modi and other BJP leaders on Friday paid tribute to ex-PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in the national capital. PM Modi remembered Atal ji as an extraordinary statesman with great vision.

Prime Minister Modi paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary at his memorial ‘Sadaiv Atal’. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and other leaders also remembered Atal ji on his death anniversary.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage to Vajpayee, calling him a patriot and politician devoted to the nation’s service. In a post on X, Shah stated, “On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and the founder of BJP, Bharat Ratna, the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, I pay my homage to him.”

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was one of the prominent leaders of the country and founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vajpayee died on August 16, 2018, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness. He was 93.

Vajpayee served as Prime Minister thrice. Briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004. His birthday, which falls on December 25, is celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’. He was awarded Bharat Ratna in 2015. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was awarded Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian honor in 2015. His politics of respect for opponents and commitment to democratic values ​​are exemplified even today.
