Inter-state Online Betting Gang Busted in Ganjam; 3 Arrested: The Ganjam Cyber Police successfully busted an online betting app fraud network. Police have arrested 3 persons in this connection and seized a large cache of digital devices and financial documents.
According to police, information was received that several youths from outside Odisha were staying in rented houses in the Gajapati Nagar and Palurgada areas under Rambha police limits and allegedly promoting and operating online betting applications. Acting on the information, a team from the Cyber Police Station conducted raids at the locations. Two persons were apprehended during the raids, while two others allegedly managed to escape. Police subsequently traced and arrested accused, identified as Jagadish Sethi alias Suraj, from the Chamakhandi area based on mobile phone numbers. The other arrested accused have been identified as Satrughna Kumar Pandey of Jharkhand, Dharmadas Manikpuri of Chhattisgarh.
During the raids, police seized two laptops, a Lenovo Chromebook, 78 ATM/debit and other cards, 16 bank passbooks, 14 smartphones, 86 SIM cards and a Bajaj Pulsar 220 motorcycle, besides various documents. Police said the mobile phones of the accused also contained PAN card and Aadhaar card details, bank account information and other identity documents belonging to different individuals.
User IDs, passwords and transaction records related to several online gaming and betting platforms, including Reddy Play 11, Hush 777, 100 Panel and Fairplay, were also allegedly recovered. A case was registered on September 19, 2026, based on a complaint lodged by Inspector-in-Charge Priyanka Behera. The case has been registered as Case No. 20/2026.
Further investigation is underway. The seized digital devices are being subjected to forensic examination to establish the extent of the alleged network, identify other persons involved, determine the volume of financial transactions and ascertain the full details of the alleged fraud. Chhatrapur SDPO Chandan Kumar Ghadhei, Cyber Police Station IIC Jyoti Ranjan Behera and other police officials were present at the press conference.
