The company, which employs over 3.5 lakh people worldwide with a significant base in India, is looking to realign its operations as industry dynamics shift.

It is worth noting that Cognizant employs more than 357,000 people. Of these, 250,000 are in India alone. Although the company has not yet announced the exact number of layoffs, according to reports, 12,000 to 15,000 employees may lose their jobs.
As the company is making these layoffs in line with changes in its management structure, the employees to be laid off may be given severance costs along with compensation and other benefits. It is said that the company had estimated the layoffs as per the budget decided under ‘Project Leap’.
