South Actor Posani Krishan Murali arrested
South Actor film maker Posani Krishan Murali arrest by andhra police in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He was taken into custody from his residence in Raidurgam by Sambepalli police of Annamayya district.
Annamayya district SP Vasana Vidhya Sagar Naidu told TOI that the arrest is linked to alleged controversial remarks made by Posani that could incite caste-based tensions and create divisions among the public. Following a complaint, a case was registered against him at the Obulavaripalle police station. The charges were filed under Sections 196, 353(2), 111 read with 3(5) of the BNS Act, 2023, making the case non-bailable. Posani will be presented before the court on Thursday morning, the SP added.

The Junior Civil Court in Railway Kodur of Annamayya district in the early hours of Friday (February 28, 2025) pronounced a 14-day judicial remand for actor and former APFDC chairman Posani Krishna Murali in connection with the criminal cases filed against him by the Obulavaripalle police under the BNS sections, amounting to derogatory remarks Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and their family members.
