Garuda Puran: These Acts Invite Poverty
Garuda Purana which one of 18 puranas in Sanatana Dharma. Garuda Purana is the myth of the conversation of Lord Vishnu with Garuda, the bird that is the vehicle of Lord Vishnu. Garuda Purana is a part of the Vishnu Purana and it deals with death, rebirth, and funeral rites in Hinduism. In this Purana, Lord Vishnu also says what are actions cause poverty in a person’s life.
People wearing dirty and dingy clothes:
As stated in the Garuda Purana, Goddess Lakshmi becomes angry at that person, who does not keep clean and filthy clothes always worn. Scriptures say that Goddess Lakshmi loves cleanliness only and stays in a house where cleanliness is maintained. Apart from wearing dirty clothes, those who do not keep their bodies clean are often surrounded by some kind of poverty. Similarly, Goddess Lakshmi also gets angry with those who do not brush their teeth daily. Garuda Purana says not to pollute the area where they live.
Those who always focus on the faults and weaknesses of others:
According to the Garuda Purana, a person who always points out the faults and weaknesses of others and speaks badly about others, Goddess Lakshmi becomes angry with him. Even if one has unnecessary anger or a tendency to cry, poverty comes in life.
A person who sleeps even after sunrise:
If a person sleeps for a long time even after sunrise, then such a person is considered lazy. According to Garuda Purana, such a person always has a shortage of money in life even after all the efforts. According to Garuda Purana, morning and evening hours are the time of worship of God. These times are considered the auspicious time to worship God. God gets angry with the person who rests during these times, due to which poverty comes in their life.
A person who is proud of his wealth:
Garuda Purana says that if a person is proud of his wealth, then the intellectual capacity of such people becomes weak. Such people spend money on useless things and invite poverty. Goddess Lakshmi does not stay in the house of people with such character and nature.
A person who fears duty or Responsibility:
If a person is afraid of working hard and does not do certain tasks properly, then Goddess Lakshmi gets angry with him. Notably, Garuda Purana states that one should not get associated with such kind of nature. In Garuda Purana, such a person who feeds himself too much has also been said to make him poor because he invites laziness into all his worldly affairs.
