‘Peddi’ Director Breaks Silence After Backlash; Film Crosses ₹150 Crore: The film Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, released in theatres on May 4 and earned ₹150 crore within two days.
However, the film faced controversy over some scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor. Critics accused the makers of objectifying women in certain parts.
Director Buchi Babu Sana responded on X (Twitter), saying the team never intended to disrespect or objectify anyone. He apologized if any scene hurt viewers and said the feedback has been taken seriously.
He also confirmed that the controversial portions will be modified. The director added that cinema should respect women and reflect audience sensitivities.
The film is doing well at the box office, but has received mixed reviews from critics.
